Experience Bhutan's vibrant culture at Thimphu Tshechu, a colorful festival showcasing masked dances, rituals, and traditional performances.

Day 1 : Arrive in Paro

Fly to Paro, enjoying spectacular mountain views. After lunch, visit Ta Dzong Museum in Paro, followed by Rimpong Dzong to see Milarepa's painting. Drive 1.5 hours along the Pachu River to Thimphu and have dinner at the hotel.

Day 2 : Thimphu Tshechu Festival

After breakfast, drive to Tashichhodzong for the Thimphu celebration. Locals in their finest attire gather to watch traditional dances, pray, and feast. The celebration features spiritual dances depicting good triumphing over evil and historical events, especially related to Bhutan’s patron saint, Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche). Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 3 : Exploring Thimphu

Enjoy a morning of sightseeing, visiting the 12th-century Changangkha Temple and the National Memorial Chorten, established by the Third King and completed by the Royal Queen Mother as a memorial to him and to world peace. Overnight in Thimphu.

Day 4 : Thimphu to Punakha

Drive over the Dochu-La pass (3,100 meters) for stunning Himalayan views, then descend into Punakha valley (about 3 hours). Explore Punakha Dzong, built in 1637 at the confluence of the Mo Chu and Pho Chu rivers. After lunch, visit Chimi Lhakhang, temple of Drukpa Kuenly, the "Divine Madman." Overnight in Punakha/Wangduephodrang.

Day 5 : Punakha to Thimphu to Paro

Begin by driving to Yabesa village for a hike to Khamsum Yueley Namgyal Chorten, a hilltop monument with Nyingmapa Tradition paintings. Return to Thimphu to visit the National Library and the Folk Heritage Museum. The next morning, hike to Taktsang Monastery, known as the Tiger’s Nest, and later visit Drukgyel Dzong and Kyichu Lhakhang in Paro.

Day 6 : Day Trip to Haa Valley

Explore one of Bhutan's most beautiful districts, Haa Valley, accessible via the stunning Chelila Pass. The valley is distinguished by its rugged and mountainous terrain. Overnight in Paro at your hotel.

Day 7 : Departure from Paro
