Snowman Trek II – 35 Days, Bhutan

Overview

The Snowman Trek II is Bhutan’s most extreme high-altitude journey, lasting 35 days across the remote Lunana region. Beginning in Paro’s Shana village and concluding in Bumthang’s Dur Minchugang, the trek crosses over 11 mountain passes above 5,000m, winding through pristine alpine valleys, turquoise lakes, and traditional yak-herding settlements. Along the way, trekkers explore Jigme Dorji National Park, visit the semi-nomadic Layap people, and witness views of Bhutan’s highest peak, Gangkar Puensum (7,570m). Considered one of the toughest treks in the world, Snowman Trek II demands endurance and acclimatization but rewards adventurers with unmatched wilderness, culture, and Himalayan beauty.
